In the last blog we discussed when to hire a professional photographer.  We’ll talk more in this blog post about tips to be prepared for the day.

What should I do to be prepared when my photographer arrives?

  • Have what you want to be photographed ready: whether this means the family already dressed or making sure the whole family is there to save time.
  • Have the appropriate expectations: although photographers can work wonders with lighting and Photoshop, there is always a chance you won’t like all images.
  • Candid images are always the ones most often asked for so be flexible when reviewing the photos.
  • Know how much money you want to spend. Costs can range from very expensive to inexpensive but you get what you pay for.
  • The more elaborate and in-depth the concept, the more expensive the photographs. Consider the cost of  props, design , makeup, background , ect.

Creative PhotosAdd that creative spin to your photos?

Do your research before hiring a professional photographer. Interview several candidates and look for a creative and unique style.  Once you have made a selection, you can move forward with confidence. When you feel confident that you have made a good decision, it will show on your face so everyone else can see it too.

Weddings are life events which are the most stressful.  A professional photographer can add the creative juice that will make your event memorable and he or she will be able to capture candid moments which an untrained photographer may miss.  If the budget allows, it is a good idea to hire a professional.  Avoiding stress on your big day may well be worth the money spent.
