Sterling Photography International has been sharing some tips on finding your photographic muses. This is the last installment of our three-part series on photographic inspiration. We hope that you have found some useful tips on getting the ideas flowing.

Sometimes muses come and sometimes they go. Sometimes we have them and sometimes we don’t. That’s why it is important to capitalize on those moments when the inspiration is plenty. This, of course, can be a very difficult task, as life tends to jumble our creativity. But we have a few more ideas to help you out on this artistic endeavor.

Try Something New

So you got this new professional camera and want to up your skills? Well, maybe it’s time to break out of the box; drop some formed habits. It is human nature to stick to what we know best but if you keep doing the same thing, you’ll keep getting the same results.

Allow yourself some time to experiment with new techniques. Don’t be afraid to mess up. This is what is so beautiful about the process. Every now and then you will surprise yourself.

Do you normally find yourself shooting outdoors? How about trying an indoor shoot? (Vice Versa).

Google different types of lighting and try a new method or two out. If you find yourself using mainly people as subjects in your photography, why not try your hand at shooting wildlife or a sunset?

Post production anyone?

If you haven’t tried out any photo editing software to boost your images, now may be the time. You can really play with your creativity here and see what the result is. This may open your eyes and give you some more ideas for future shoots. Read about the latest Adobe Photoshop (a graphics editing program) news.

And as we have mentioned before, sometimes the best inspiration comes from seeing your loved ones photographed or by having own personal portraits done! Contact us today to book a session.
