We believe that soon every woman will feel like a princess bride as they experience a rare event, a royal wedding.
And the princess in everyone’s mind right now is actually not a princess at all, but she is marrying British Royalty. She is American citizen and actress, Meghan Markle.
A Princess Deserves More Than One Prince in Attendance
As we anticipate the royal wedding, we can only imagine what the wedding photographer is thinking before the big event. Alexi Lubomirski, age 42, also known as a photographer to the stars, commented; “I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion.”https://www.weddingideasmag.com/royal-wedding-harry-meghans-photographer/
Last December, he created memories for the couple by capturing a series of intimate pictures including a black and white shot of the pair embracing.
Recently, he stated, “Having taken Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”
Our modern princess bride Meghan chose a photographer who happens to also has royal blood. “Alexi, who holds the title His Serene Highness, is descended from an influential Polish family who received the hereditary title of prince of the Holy Roman Empire from Emperor Ferdinand III in the 17thCentury.” However, we doubt his title was the main reason he was chosen as the royal wedding couple’s photographer for their special day. We imagine the choice of Alexi had more to do with his talent and the photographs of his exclusive clientele than his lineage.
He has photographed some of the finest princesses of American show business: Gwyneth Paltrow, Beyonce and Julia Roberts.
Tips for Choosing a Wedding Photographer
And so on the eve of the royal wedding, we thought it would be appropriate to review some of the appropriate criteria for choosing a photographer for your wedding day, whether you will be one of the Princess brides or just one of our girls-next-door who is just as special as any royalty.
And although we cannot be certain she used our guidelines, it seems to us that Meghan Markle might have chosen her photographer with some of our tips in mind.
This topic is also appropriate for our ongoing features on planning a wedding. We have discussed how to choose your florist,
how to find your venue, and recently we opened the topic of choices about your wedding photography.
Princess Bride Guide: The Fab Four Tips
There are a great many articles and bridal guides that profess to know the art of choosing a wedding photographer. You might think that we would use this article about such tips as an infomercial for Sterling International Photography. On the contrary, we only want you to choose a photographer who will be right for you.
To insure that, take a look at the following 4 points we consider to be the most important for you to remember on your search for the wedding photographer of your dreams.
Prince Bride Guide Number One Tip: Like Your Photographer
You are going to spend a lot of time with your photographer, so be sure you like him or her. Likewise, be sure you select a photographer who helps you to relax and feel like yourself. Sterling Photography International encourages you to shop around for your photographer. It is not all about their technique. If they make you feel worried or uncomfortable or if you don’t think they will enjoy your wedding experience, then it doesn’t matter how good they are technically. In short, you must “click” with your photographer.
Princess Bride’s Guide Tip Number Two: Love Your Photographer’s Style
In our previous blog we talked a lot about different trends and styles of photography. Be sure you find a photographer with the power of a style you love.
1. Find a photographer that documents a wedding how you would like your photos to be,
2. Search out a photographer who edits their photos in a style that you love.
3. Choose a passionate photographer who creates images that reflect relationships.
Princess Bride’s Guide: Tip Number Three
As you interview photographers, you will see many different styles represented. However, look for range as well as specialties. By this we mean check out the total wedding story they tell, the whole “book” of finished work from one single wedding. Not just party pix, not just portraits, not just group shots or just close ups—You want it all. You want consistent images throughout the day, not a half a dozen great shots. As Sterling says, “An amazing album tells a whole, beautiful love story.”
Princess Bride’s Guide Tip Number Four: Trust!
We want you to choose a person who gives you confidence, makes you feel happy, and inspires your trust. You do not want to be the director on your special day. You want professional help. Choose a photographer who will listen to your wishes before the big day, and then you can trust them to do their job. Well the photographer make plans with you and yet not require micromanagement?
We know one bride who based her “trust” choice of photographers on whom she would trust if she were buying a used car.
When you think about it, that situation does require a high level of trust, since a car can mean life or death in some situations. Well, that gauge of human character might not work for every princess bride, but every princess bride should have an ultimate trust test for the photographers she interviews.
