In the beginning of the month, we brought up the wedding idea of ambush weddings. So what is an ambush wedding exactly? Well it’s basically a surprise wedding or “Trojan Wedding” as some refer to them.
Surprise! We are getting married right here, right now!
Ambush weddings may be the latest trend this year. But why would a couple want to tie the knot to a room full of unsuspecting guests? Well it’s pretty simple — it eliminates a ton of stress that usually comes along with planning nuptials.
Of course, we all know that celebrities opt for the ambush destination wedding to avoid the paparazzi. But what if you don’t have an Oscar or some sort of million dollar contract but you just want the fun element of surprise to be a going theme…well this may be your best bet as oppose to eloping.
There are other reasons that non-celebrity folk may want to stay away from wedding invitations and go this route of exchanging “I do’s.”
Here is a list of some of those reasons below:
- Imagine the look on the faces of your guests when you announce the surprise! This should make for some memorable wedding shots.
- It’s a timesaver—with less coordinating efforts and months upon months of planning.
- Want to go for unique and less traditional? Well this is definitely a start and you will not be expected to carry through with other wedding traditions as a result.
- Ditch the stressful guest list and just invite those that are in town that can make your “birthday party” or whatever excuse you and your partner come up with to give people.
Now of course, you wouldn’t want to not invite your parents and siblings that live out-of-town. Keep in mind you will have to let a few in on the secret so that they can make their travel plans well in advance. After all, most will agree that an important part of a wedding day is being able to spend it with the people you love the most. And that is just what one surprised bride got to do after her fiancée planned an entire ambush wedding for her!
