Last week, readers gathered useful tips on how to prepare for an upcoming photoshoot. Whether it be for family portraits, newborn shoots, couple shoots, or engagement shoots, most tips are all the same. Let’s get back into it, so you can find out how you can have perfect holiday family portraits that’ll last a lifetime!
In review:
As we stated in our last blog, it is important to choose a photographer that has the same style that you are looking for. You cannot direct a photographer and tell them to copy an image. Photographers each have their own eye and own vision.
In collaboration with the clients, gorgeous images will be created that will last a lifetime and can be shared with friends and family in-person and on social media. Take a look at the photographer’s full portfolio before choosing the photographer. Now that you have landed here and have chosen Sterling Photography International, it is time to prepare for your shoot.
Tips for getting ready for a photoshoot with Sterling:
The hard part is over. You have now chosen an experienced, bubbly, and artistic photographer. What is next? Sterling will help choose outfits, hair, and makeup if you wish. For Iconic Images, this is preferred.
Boudoir is obviously far different than holiday family photography, so it is important to discuss Iconic Image outfit choices. Iconic Images do not have to be sexy or sophisticated. They can be classy, fun, high-fashion, and authentic all the the same time. Sterling capture’s each clients personality naturally and makes every client feel comfortable which is extremely important for any sort of shoot.
This month, we have a lucky winner for an Iconic Image Giveaway! We look forward to sharing those images soon on our social media. Be sure to check out our page on Instagram: sterlingphotographyint.
What to wear, when to smile:
Moving along, choose the correct time for the venue. If the venue is outside, get together with Sterling to choose the right time for a sunrise or sunset shoot. Avoid mid-day heat if possible.
If the venue is indoors but has a large window background, make the most of the views by discussing the perfect shoot time. Talk about how many outfit options should be brought. Coordinating family outfits is ideal for any family shoot.
Some patterns should be avoided as they can be very busy and not let the client’s faces shine. Likewise, some colors truly clash. Be sure you prepare for a family shoot. If you plan to shoot indoors and outdoors, it may be a good idea to have two outfits.
As you know, Florida weather is not known to be mild or cool, even for the holidays, so have an outfit for the outdoor climate and change if you must go indoors after the outdoors images. In an ideal situation, you would do indoor images before heading outside, but it does not always work out this way.
